It’s nearing the end of the month and everyone’s waiting to get paid – so naturally, you cut your beauty budget because … FOOD!

Luckily for life, beauty and the salvation of mankind, we’ve tracked down the four most budget-friendly DIY beauty treatments. The best thing about these treatments is that you don’t even need to leave your house to hunt down various oils and exfoliation salts – these ingredients can be found in almost all kitchens. WIN!

SUGAR FACIAL

1. Ice Facial

As it turns out, ice has more uses than chilling your drinks. Ice is a great skin-tightening tool and helps to reduce the appearance of pores. Each night before bed, grab a cube of ice and run it along your face. If you’re feeling gutsy, fill the sink with water, throw some ice in and take the plunge. You only need to keep your face under water for a few seconds. You might suffer a little brain freeze but your skin will love you for this.

2. Egg-White Face Mask

Egg whites are great for tightening and toning skin. Why? Because egg whites have so many nutrients in them that do wonders for skin. The protein in egg whites repairs tissue and promotes wrinkle-free skin. The potassium hydrates and moisturises skin and, finally, the magnesium slows down the ageing process.

3. Sugar Scrub

Everyone says that sugar is bad for you, right? That’s true – refined sugar can be extremely damaging to skin and cause weight problems. But placing sugar directly onto the skin and creating a face scrub is really good for skin rejuvenation. All you need to do is exfoliate the skin with a mixture of sugar and water.

ICE

4. Beer Hair Rinse

We are dead serious about this one. The natural ingredients found in beer actually add volume to hair and give it a beautiful, natural shine. Just be sure to dry hair immediately so that it doesn’t smell like beer.
