Pantone's Colour of the Year Is Here, but Will You Wear It?

December 8, 2016

With 2017 just around the corner, it’s time to say goodbye to Rose Quartz and Serenity and embrace Pantone’s new colour of the year: Greenery. The bright springy hue may seem an unexpected choice, but according to Pantone, it is meant to represent “a colour snapshot” of the current global culture and mood. Translation: There’s a greater message behind the pick.

“Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolises the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose,” notes Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute in a statement.

When it comes to fashion, at first glance, bright green may seem like a tricky choice. But armed with the right pieces, it’s a colour that will no doubt help you stand out from the crowd. So embrace the coming year in an invigorated way, with a little extra greenery in your life (and wardrobe).
